What is concrete plan of the Taipei Port Container BOT project? And when will it start to run?  

  First B. O. T. (build, operate, transfer) project applied in Taiwan’s ports, 7 berths with 2,366 meters in length and 110 hectares in area will be constructed and operated by Taipei Port Container Terminal Corp. (TPC) which is formed by Evergreen, Wanhai and Yangming shipping lines. Total investment is US$ 600 million and the throughput is4 million TEU per year. The concession period in the BOT case is 50 years. The First 2 berths will schedule to run by Jan, 2009.

  The bid has been won by China Container Terminal Corporation in Nov. 2006. According to winner’s plan, the extension program of W18-19 will schedule to complete by the end of 2008 and the winner will get the right to operate W19-21 starting from 1^st Jan, 2009.

  The BOT project is conducting pursuant to Act for Promotion of Private Participation in Infrastructure Projects. And the project expected to sign the contract in July, 2007 and all construction will be completed by July, 2010.
